Thief Control Panel

This has been on my to-do list for a while now and so happy to finally get to it.  I had a friend bead blast the control panel for me, and started to prep it yesterday.  Here’s the steps that I did.

  1. Painted both sides (black satin spray paint) and sanded it with 220 and 600 grit sandpaper to get a nice smooth surface.
  2. Wiped down with Isopropyl alcohol.
  3. Aligned CPO and used a flashlight underneath the control panel to show where the joystick and button holes were located.
  4. Clamped down both sides
  5. Measured the CPO to the control panel to make sure it was square
  6. Removed one clamp and peeled off half the overlay and cut the backing off.
  7. Smoothed the half of the overlay down and then did the same for the other half.
  8. Heated the top and bottom to wrap around the metal control panel
  9. Trimmed excess and to an excto-knife to the joystick and button holes.
  10. Used a hole punch for the bolt holes.
  11. Added joystick, buttons, and hardware.
